Aromatherapy can also be added to your massage to help balance your mood.

Luminary Massage:

A gentle, pampering Swedish massage to promote circulation and relaxation.

Specific strokes and pressure are used to release a dysfunctional holding pattern. It includes long strokes, kneading and friction techniques on the more superficial layers of the muscles, combined with active and passive movements of the joints. This therapy promotes general relaxation, improves blood circulation and range of motion, and relieves muscle tension.

                         90 min.     $110             60 min.    $80            30 min.    $55

Deep Tissue:

A firm pressure massage, directed at muscle groups and connective tissue to break up adhesions and detoxify, increasing range of motion and overall well-being.

Deep Tissue massage releases the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the grain of muscles, tendons and fascia. It focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue.

                         90 min.     $120             60 min.    $90             30 min.    $65

Uniquely Yours:

Neuromuscular Therapy:

A massage that focuses on specific areas of the body to aid in the release of chronic pain and regain flexibility.

Neuromuscular therapy is also called trigger point myotherapy . The American Academy of Pain Management recognizes this form of massage therapy as an effective treatment for back pain caused by soft tissue injury (such as a muscle strain). Neuromuscular therapy consists of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on the areas of muscle spasm. The massage therapy pressure is usually applied with the fingers, knuckles, or elbow. Once applied to a muscle spasm, the pressure should not vary for ten to thirty seconds.

Neuromuscular therapy will feel painful at first, but the pressure of the massage should alleviate the muscle spasm. At this point, it is extremely important to communicate with the massage therapist regarding the pressure - whether the pressure is too much, too little, getting better, getting worse. The therapist should listen and respond accordingly. The massage therapy pressure should never be overly painful. In fact, most people describe the pressure as "good pain".

                         90 min.     $125             60 min.    $95

Stone massage is a unique connection we experience with nature, offering a sense of profoundness and sacredness that we too often forget. It's a deep healing and unique moment that enhances our awareness and brings us closer to our true essence.

Sports Massage:

Sports Massage is a special form of massage and is typically used before, during, and after athletic events. The purpose of the massage is to
prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries.

The main purpose of sports massage therapy is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body's soft tissues during physical activity. Where minor injuries and lesions occur, due to overexertion and/or overuse, massage can break them down quickly and effectively. The massage will help prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries. Sports massage can help prevent those niggling injuries that so often get in the way of performance and achievement, whether a person is an athlete or a once a week jogger.

Pre/Post-Natal:

Designed specifically for the needs of pregnant and postpartum women and their changing bodies.

Prenatal and post partum massage have documented value and are perfect ways to reduce stress, relieve pain and promote general well being. It is a form of health care that brings balance to the temporary challenges of pregnancy.

Back pain is extremely common in pregnancy, as well as during the season of breastfeeding or as a result of carrying small children. This pain can be relieved by massage to the back, the neck, legs, and feet. Therapeutic bodywork can also help alleviate leg cramps and swelling, induce deep relaxation, increase energy levels and relieve muscle tension in the areas most affected by the growing fetus and the mother's shifting center of gravity.

Acupressure:

Acupressure is is a way of accessing and releasing blocked or congested energy centers in the body. Chinese cultures believe the points to be junctures of meridian pathways that carry energy called chi. Western scientists have also mapped out and proven the existence of these points using electrical devices.

Acupressure massage therapy stimulates and activates the body's own energies to help fight illness and restore harmony. Some of the acupressure points are significant as they relate to a specific part of the body while others are more general in their effect.

                         90 min.     $125             60 min.    $95             30 min.    $70

Cranio-Sacral Therapy:

Craniosacral therapy manipulates the bones of the skull to treat a range of conditions. Various forms of cranial manipulation have been used to improve overall body functioning.

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a safe, natural form of hands-on healing that helps people heal and blossom as they release pain and suffering. CST is a potent alternative to allopathic medical care, as well as a deeply healing supplement to all conventional health care techniques. Learn how powerful your healing can truly be, with this effective, non-invasive modality proven to relieve pain without medication.

                         90 min.     $125             60 min.    $95

Baby Massage:

Many cultures have used massage as part of baby care for hundreds of years, and research shows it can have many benefits. Massage enables you to learn about and respond to your baby's body language. It is also a wonderful way to make your baby feel safe and secure by showing that he or she is loved and cared for.

There is no set way to massage your baby - provided you know how to do it safely, you and your baby will discover what's best for you both. It is important to remember, however, that massage is something you do with, rather than to your baby. It is recommended that you learn from someone with a qualification in baby massage (See our "Classes" web page), to ensure you are doing it safely.

                                                                                 30 min.    $55

Reflexology:

Reflexology is a gentle form of therapeutic treatment applied to the feet and sometimes to the hands. It evolved around 1913 from the work of Dr. William H. Fitzgerald, an ear, nose and throat surgeon in the United States. Reflexology is considered to be a holistic healing technique that aims to treat the individual as a whole, in order to induce a state of balance and harmony in body, mind and spirit.

The therapist stimulates and works these organs and systems through the reflexes areas on the hands and feet, applying pressure to the feet with thumb and fingers. Pressure is applied to clear out congestion and restore normal functioning and health.

                                                                60 min.    $95             30 min.    $75

Shiatsu:

Shiatsu is a Japanese word. It means 'finger pressure'. A Shiatsu treatment does however incorporate the use not only of finger pressure, but also thumbs, palms, knees, forearms, elbows and feet. Pressure is applied to the areas of energy lines (meridians) to promote good health by 'stimulating the bodys energy flow (Ki)'.

Shiatsu can help alleviate the pain associated with a wide range of conditions. Shiatsu can also assist an individual with their self development and self healing; balancing the underlying causes of a condition; taking into account the functioning of the physical and psychological; promoting health and strengthening the body's own healing abilities.
